Speech
Speech-Language Pathology in the schools entails a wide variety of services for students.  Students receive individualized instruction in the areas of articulation, expressive and receptive language, fluency, and voice.  Some pre-reading skills are also targeted, as speech is so closely tied to reading and writing development.  Social skills are also practiced in the event that a student struggles in the area of pragmatic language, or the appropriate use of verbal and nonverbal language skills.  All services are provided in a variety of venues, including one-on-one, small group, and in-class instruction.
Department Announcements
The New SLP: Anne Brown
I am the new Speech-Language Pathologist at Griffin this year. I have enjoyed taking over the caseload for Patty Gee, following her retirement this spring. After working in a variety of settings, it is such a pleasure to join the Griffin team. The staff is supportive, the parents are a great resource, and the students are amazing. I think this is going to be a great year!
